Register for the Wiki and Joining the Wiki (Be sure to do all three steps!) 1)Click on Sign In. (Top right) You will be asked for your username and password. But since you have not signed in here before, go to where it says “New to Wikispaces” and click on Join Wikispaces Now. Create a username and password for yourself and click on Join. An email will be sent to your account in order to confirm your registration.
2)Check your email and click on the link to confirm.
3)Once you are confirmed, click on Join this Wiki (left side). Type a comment if you want to and then click on Join – this makes you apart of UB Online.
Instructions for Posting to the Wiki: In order to type in text, click on Edit (see right top of page) Place Your Cursor in a blank part of the page.
A toolbar will pop up at the top of the page: Hint: Type First, Format Last (bold, underline, etc.)!
Once you have typed in your work, don’t forget to Save!
When insert pictures, you will get a special pop-up menu that will allow you to resize a picture and align the picture (if you click on left or right, it will let your picture float on screen next to text (ie. like text wrapping).
Note: A Wiki is not designed to be pretty. You will not be able to do all of the formatting you can do in Microsoft Word. The important thing is to get your words and pictures on “paper.”
